There is a seeming difference
between printed press and radio-TV with regard to their submission to power.
One outstanding reason is that while for the printed word there is not a
specific modality of infringing upon property rights, in the realm of radio
and TV we have one particular way to annul liberty – the license. Through
it the authority, the state, the politicians (or whatever one chooses to
call the organized group that uses legislation as a veil for aggression)
decides who gets to be “on air” and who doesn’t. One could call this state
of affairs however one wants, but one cannot talk about freedom of speech
and avoid being utterly ridiculous.
